{"id":45,"date":"2013-07-09T19:44:54","date_gmt":"2013-07-09T19:44:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/zimbabweschildren.org\/?page_id=45"},"modified":"2013-12-23T20:25:56","modified_gmt":"2013-12-23T20:25:56","slug":"zimbabwe-foundation","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/zimbabweschildren.org\/index.php\/zimbabwe-foundation\/","title":{"rendered":"Zimbabwe Foundation"},"content":{"rendered":"[heading subtitle=&#8221;&#8221;] Zimbabwe Foundation [\/heading]\n<p>The True Vision Foundation of Zimbabwe has been registered as a legal Trust in Zimbabwe.\u00a0 Our Zimbabwean Trustees are Harold Chabayanzara, Patrick Makororo, Norman Tinarwo and Fiona Munyebvu.\u00a0 Each Trustee has years of experience working for local and international NGOs namely, SOS Children\u2019s Villages, Pump Aid, Nhaka Foundation and Environment Africa. \u00a0They play a vital and invaluable role in advising and supporting us on the ground.<\/p>\n<p><b>Norman Tinarwo, Program Support Officer (Zimbabwe &amp; Malawi) for\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.pumpaid.org\">Pump Aid UK<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Norman holds an MA in Environmental Policy and Planning and has extensive development work experience providing design, technical capacity building and support to NGOs throughout Africa.\u00a0 Currently Norman is engaged with Pump Aid as Program Support Director for Zimbabwe, Malawi and Liberia, responsible for support program management and output delivery.\u00a0 Norman also works as a consultant for different humanitarian and development organisations mostly on project and program monitoring and evaluation.\u00a0 It is through Norman\u2019s contacts and assistance that True Vision Foundation of Zimbabwe came to install a borehole and water pump providing clean water and sanitation to the children and community at our school.\u00a0 He has been instrumental in providing support with the monitoring and evaluation of both our projects.<\/p>\n<p><b><\/b><b>Harold Chabayanzara, Director of\u00a0<a title=\"SOS Children's village Zimbabwe\" href=\"http:\/\/www.soschildrensvillages.org.uk\/sponsor-a-child\/africa\/zimbabwe\" target=\"_blank\">SOS Children\u2019s Village<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Harold is the Director of the SOS Children\u2019s Village that is now home to\u00a0<a title=\"Children in the Film\" href=\"http:\/\/stormthompson.com\/?page_id=1023\">Esther\u00a0<\/a>and her sister Tino, after their mother died from HIV\/AIDS and they were left in the care of their abusive Uncle.\u00a0 It is through Harold\u2019s many years of experience and advice that we are able to provide appropriate care for the other children who featured in the\u00a0<a title=\"Zimbabwe\u2019s Forgotten Children Film\" href=\"http:\/\/stormthompson.com\/?page_id=1034\">film\u00a0<\/a>\u2013 Grace, Michelle and Obert.\u00a0 SOS do not only run family homes they support their neighbouring communities through the SOS Family Strengthening Program which enables children who are at risk of losing parental care (generally as a result of HIV\/AIDS) to grow up within a caring family environment.\u00a0 The program empowers families and communities to effectively protect and care for their children.\u00a0 We have tried to learn from this model when working with the children of\u00a0<a title=\"Project Batsirai\" href=\"http:\/\/stormthompson.com\/?page_id=1032\">Project Batsirai<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><b>Fiona Munyebvu, Project Manager True Vision Foundation of Zimbabwe<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Fiona holds an MA in Environmental Policy and Planning and BSc (hons) in Geography and Environmental Science.\u00a0 She was employed by Forestry Commission and Environment Africa as a Community Program Officer. Her main focus was coordinating food security projects, an urban agriculture project and capacity building of farmers and communities in practical skills which included project planning and management. Among many other key result areas, she was responsible for managing school projects in both rural and urban schools.\u00a0 In 2011 Fiona joined the True Vision Foundation as a Project Manager responsible for research and project coordination in schools.
